Backlash against Diversity in Europe
Thu, September 3, 2:00 to 3:45pm, TBA
Session Description
More than 30 years ago, right-wing parties that were perceived as radical or even extremist emerged as a new party family in countries such as France, Austria, or Denmark. Today, parties that are ‘Far Right’ in a broader sense are a force to be reckoned with in most European countries. Although their success has been uneven in the 2014 European election and across recent national contests, they are reshaping the patterns of political competition in many countries and seem poised to disrupt the project of European integration.
