Meet APSA Congressional Fellow Eric van der Vort — Applications for 2018-2019 Fellowships due Dec. 4!

Since 1953 the APSA Congressional Fellowship Program has supported political scientists, journalists, and other professionals in gaining first-hand knowledge of Congress and policymaking through fellowship placements in congressional offices. The APSA is pleased to welcome the 2017-2018 class of fellows.

Eric van der Vort – Syracuse University, 2017-2018 APSA Congressional Fellow

Eric van der Vort is a PhD candidate at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. His scholarly interests include public law, social movements, political and constitutional development, and the politics of sexuality in the United States. Specifically, he is interested in the incorporation of gender and sexual minorities into the American polity. His work on these topics has appeared in Political Behavior, Sociological Imagination, and other venues. Originally from Detroit, he previously attended Indiana University and Ball State University.
