APSA Highlights Centennial Center Grant Scholar, Kara Alaimo

KAlaimo_Cent Ctr Headshotara Alaimo, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism, Media Studies, and Public Relations at Hofstra University. In 2014, she received a Centennial Center grant from the Presidency Research Fund to present her research on the leaking of unauthorized information to the press by federal government officials at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) Conference in Montreal. She went on to publish her research in the Journal of Public Affairs. At the conference, Dr. Alaimo also met three editors who offered contracts to publish her first book, on global strategic communication and public diplomacy. She received a second Centennial Center grant from the Edward Artinian Fund for Publishing in 2015 to conduct focus groups in Brazil and South Africa for this book, which will be published by Routledge.
