The 2017-2018 APSA eJobs Report: 6 Month Report, July 1 – December 31, 2017 analyzes the positions posted to the APSA eJobs website from July 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.
There were 899 job postings made from July 1 to December 31, 2017, which is 5.8% higher than average. The largest major subfield category for postings was International Politics (23.8%), followed by American Politics and Government (18.5%), and then Comparative Politics (15.9%). Tenure-track positions were the most frequently posted positions, comprising nearly two-thirds of all postings. With the exception of the ‘Other’ category, which had the highest rate of non-tenure track positions (43.2%), postings for positions in all major subfields were for tenure-track positions at least two-thirds of the time.
